VERSION  OF

The Holy Bible book of
Genesis
Chapter Eight

∂ and God remembered Noah and all of his passengers with him in the ark, , and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, to absorb the waters from the face thereof, ,

after He had stopped the fountains of the deep and the rain from heaven, ,

and continually, the waters evaporated from the face of the earth, until after the end of one hundred and fifty days, when the waters had decreased sufficiently

∂ to permit the ark to become grounded on the mountain of Ararat, on the seventeenth day of the seventh month, ,

and the depth of water continued to decrease until the first day of the tenth month, when the tops of the mountains could be seen, ,

∂ and at the end of forty days, Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made, ,

and therefrom, he sent forth a raven that flew hither and yon until it found a place to perch thereon, as the water continued to recede from off the earth, ,

and then, Noah sent forth a dove, to determine whether the water had receded sufficiently for it to put its feet on the ground, ,

but because water yet covered the face of the earth, the dove found no place for her feet, and returned to Noah, and when he put out his hand, she perched thereon and he took her back into the ark, ,

and seven days later, again he sent forth the dove out of the ark, ,

and in the evening, the dove returned and came in to him, and in her mouth was an olive leaf she had plucked, to show Noah that the water had receded accordingly, ,

but Noah waited yet another seven days and again sent forth the dove, and it did not return, ,

∂ and on the first day of the first month of the six hundred and first year, it appeared to Noah that the water had evaporated sufficiently from off the earth and thus, Noah removed the covering of the ark, and when he looked out therefrom, he saw that the surface of the ground appeared dry, ,

and one month and twenty-six days later, on the twenty-seventh day of the second month, Noah knew the earth was sufficiently dry to go forth thereon because, ,

∂ God spoke to Noah, saying,

"Go forth from the ark, you and your wife, your sons and your sonsí wives with you;

bring with you, every living thing of all flesh, both of birds and cattle and of every creeping thing, that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.", ,

and Noah went forth, and his sons and his wife, and his sonsí wives with him, ,

every beast, every creeping thing and every bird, went forth out of the ark, ,

∂ and Noah built an altar unto The LORD, and took of every clean beast and of every clean bird, and made burnt offerings on that altar, ,

and The LORD smelled a sweet savor, and in his heart, The LORD said, "I will not ever again, curse the ground for manís sake, because the imagination of manís heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again, as I have done, smite every living thing;

while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.", ,
