Chapter Ten

1 ¶ These are the generations of the sons of Noah, , Shem, Ham, and Japheth, whom, after the flood, sons were born unto.

2 The sons of Japheth are: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

3 The sons of Gomer are: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

4 The sons of Javan are: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

5 By these, the isles of the Gentiles were divided in their lands, each after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

6 ¶ The sons of Ham are: Cush, Mizraim, Phut, and Canaan.

7 The sons of Cush are: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtecha, , and the sons of Raamah are: Sheba and Dedan.

8 Cush begat Nimrod and he became a mighty person on the earth.

9 Nimrod was the mighty hunter before The LORD, and thus it is written of Nimrod.

10 The beginning of Nimrod's kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11 Out of that land, went forth Asshur and built Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and also Calah, ,

12 and between Nineveh and Calah, is Resen, a great city.

13 Mizraim begat Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, ,

14 Pathrusim, and Casluhim, out of whom came Philistim and Caphtorim.

15 ¶ Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth, ,

16 and the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgasite, ,

17 the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite, ,

18 the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite, , and afterward, the families of the Canaanites became spread abroad.

19 The border of the Canaanites, was from Sidon, as when approaching Gerar, toward Gaza, when journeying to Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah, Zeboim, or Lasha.

20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families and tongues, in their countries and nations.

21 ¶ Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, to him also, children were born.

22 The children of Shem are: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.

23 The children of Aram are: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.

24 Arphaxad begat Salah and Salah begat Eber, ,

25 and unto Eber two sons were born; the name of one was Peleg because in his days, the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan, ,

26 and Joktan begat Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, ,

27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, ,

28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, ,

29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; these were the 13 sons of Joktan, ,

30 and their dwelling was from Mesha, when approaching Sephar, a mount of the east.

31 These are Shem's sons, after their families and tongues, in their lands and  nations.

32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations and in their nations, , and after the flood, it was by these, that the resulting populace became divided into nations on the earth.
